This track racer put an end to Daniel Morelon's reign on the Montreal track in 1976, thus depriving the Frenchman of what would have been an historic triple victory in the speed event.In the final the contest became a tactical one. When they were still even with one lap each Tkac attacked a long way from the finishing line; the Frenchman, who thought this was a feint, kept to his own pace. When Morelon realized his mistake it was too late.
