Each competitor taking part in the games is presented with an Olympic identity card. This document, in conjunction with the athlete's passport and travel ticket, enables the competitor to reside in the Olympic village. The identity card also gives the athletes the right to a pass card, which allows the competitors access to the Olympic venues. The degree of access is specific to each individual.
