ALLAIS Emile ( born 1912) France / Alpine skiingHe was the first Frenchman to win a medal in skiing, when he took the bronze in the combined event at Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1936. However this result was a disappointment for Allais who the following year, went on to become the best skier, winning three gold medals, in the combined, downhill, and slalom events in the world championships.
