CRAPP Lorraine (1938) Australia / Swimming
She was the first woman swimmer ever to complete the 400 m free-style in less than five minutes, a feat which won her the Olympic gold medal at Melbourne in 1956. Lorraine Crapp also won the gold in the 4x100 m relay and twice won a silver medal, for the 100 m in 1956 and for the 4x100 m relay at the 1960 Rome games.
