Triple Olympic champion in figure skating, Grafstrom was a wonderful skater. He took his first title at the summer games in Antwerp, Belgium in 1920. He followed on from his compatriot, Salchow, who had first won the medal in 1908. Grafstrom kept his title at Chamonix in 1924 and again in Saint Moritz in 1928
