Klementiev's career has been one of the strangest in Olympic history. Olympic C1 canoeing champion in Seoul under the Soviet flag, he took part in the Barcelona games in Latvian colours, only taking a silver.In between times, he collected seven world titles for himself, for Russia, Latvia and Poland.
