BAILLET-LATOUR (de) Henri (1876-1942) - Belgium / IOCBaillet-Latour took over from de Courbertin at the head of the Olympic movement in 1925, and continued defending the Olympic ideals established by his predecessor, founder of the games. Count Baillet-Latour, a Belgian, succeeded in his quest to have the VIIth Olympic games hosted by the town of Antwerp. Throughout his 17 year presidency, he made every effort to protect sport from commercialisation.
